the great flood of 2012

yesterday i woke up at 6am to hear the radio say many people had flooding in their basements... i figured.. nah mines fine.. was fine the other day when we had lots of rain.. but i just had to check... i looked.. there had to have been a foot of water in there... i freaked out.. i didnt know what to do... so i called my mom crying.. she told me not much i can do because of the large amount of rain. so then i hear a little while after the water treatment plant by my house had backed up. then i was like wow.. thats great.. cant flush, cant use water... this sucks! i then discover the ceiling in my laundry room is majorly warped.. went to work anyways... was kinda on freak out mode most of the day because i was unsure if it got worse or what was going on.. cause i was hearing reports that others in the area were getting up to 5ft of water... at lunch i checked.. was still the same.. went down to half an inch.. power still on.. everything good. went to work... called my insurance company.. he tried to say oh its probably not sewage backup.. but how could it not be...when everyone else in the east end has sewage back up!!! i bet it is.. he also tried to say that the rain didnt cause the damage on my roof.. but i bet it did.. because i seriously can not afford to get a new roof... also my furnace may have gotten water... which i needed a new one anyways :P then i hear rumors they are evacuating people.. so at 430 i went home.. still had power.. water was still the same. everyone else was barging water out on my street except me and the 3 neighbours near me.. i believe we all had dug out basements! i feel for those who lost a lot.. even their houses due to this flood.. in a way im glad that my flooding wasnt that bad.. i guess having a dugout basement has its perks! though not being able to shower or flush sucks.. or cooking... oh well excuse to eats junks and pizza :) anyways i must go find me some foods! i can say that the water is no more in my dugout.. :)
